Presented on the eve of the LA CoMotion 2018 Leadership Conference, on November 14, the L.A. New Mobility Challenge is a major global startup competition focused on urban mobility. The Challenge brought together 18 semi-finalists who pitched their innovations on stage to a crowd of top Venture Capitalists and key public and private stakeholders.
More than 100 startups and young companies from over 15 countries applied to this year’s L.A. New Mobility Challenge, across six categories of urban mobility: Aerial Mobility, Autonomous Vehicles, Electric, Personal Mobility, Shared Mobility, and Smart Infrastructure.
The Challenge is a joint initiative of LA CoMotion, the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator and the NewCities Foundation. Other partners included the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, French Tech Los Angeles, Starburst Accelerator, Fontinalis Partners, and Trucks VC.
“Given the challenges cities like Los Angeles are facing with mobility and climate change, it was exciting to see these entrepreneurs present their solutions that can improve quality of life, create jobs, and protect the environment.”
Matt Petersen, CEO, LA Cleantech Incubator
